In 1959, ‘Little Theo’, as it was called at ASEC Mimosas to distinguish it from “Big Theo”, won the cup of Côte d’Ivoire, then flew to France, thanks to Jean TOKPA. He is 20 years old and is therefore ready for the professional adventure. This excellentgoalkeeper at the amazing reflexes, at feline agility, facing bullets safe and sovereign in its area, lands at the Racing Club Paris, a D1 club. He made a very good impression. Then, after a few seasons, it will evolve in turn in Sète, Chalon, Dijon and Blanzy-Montceau became after Laura.
In 1964, Théo DOSSOU returned to ivory coast at the request of the Minister me BAHIA Blé Kouadio. He played the finals of the NPC from 1965 to Brazzaville, then from 1967, in Tunis. Eustache MANGLE would have served only one club, ASEC Mimosas, if fate had notdecided otherwise. Teenager, to the College of Orientation of the Plateau, it was a football fan. Already, at the college, with her thighs and her calves to the impressivediameters, his comrades had dubbed him Guy MOLLET, the name of a former french Minister. Instead of irritate him, it amused MANGLE. His passion for football is such that his mother decides to send it to Bouaké, Eustache MANGLE is devoted to hisstudies. But once in Bouaké, the fate of MANGLE catches him. He caught the eye ofthe Renaissance Club leaders that convince its guardian and cousin, Etienne SHEMIDAH, so that Eustache signed with them. During a memorable quarterfinal of the National Cup, in 1962, the Renaissance eliminates large training of the stadium in Abidjan of the BAKRO, SYLVA, ZADI, BLEZIRI, Zempegue COULIBALY, KOUAME Yao and other. MANGLE impresses and scored the three goals of his team that wins (3-1).To avoid attracting the attention of his mother, he called himself Kay. But after thesemi-finals against Africa Sports, the same year, the veil falls. Everyone learns thatKay is called actually Eustache MANGLE. “It’s from there that my mother eventuallyaccept my choice and my passion for football,” he says. During the season, the leaders of the Abidjan Stadium do sign home and enrolled him in the modern College of Cocody. But the heart of MANGLE isn’t at the stage. He returned to Bouaké and sign to the Unisport which was the merger of the Renaissance Club and sport of Bouaké Clubs Association. He played one season. In 1964, Eustache MANGLE sign unconditionally in the club of his heart: ASEC Mimosas. The same year, he knows his firstselection with the Elephants of Ivory Coast. This is the beginning of a beautiful andrich career at ASEC Mimosas which will see him win five (5) national cups (1967, 1968, 1969, 1970, 1972); two (2) National Championships (1970 and 1972); play a semifinal of the African Cup of champions clubs, in 1971 and three (3) finals of the NPC, in 1965, 1968 and 1970.
Powerful striker, dexterous feet and head, Eustache MANGLE distinguished above all by his powerful shots. They nicknamed “the Lion”, because of its strength, and hisselflessness in the field. He inherited the nickname after a memorable victory for ASEC facing Africa which priva, this day there, the Green and red of the title of champion of Côte d’Ivoire, for the benefit of the Abidjan Stadium. Of its strike force, the story retains one of the anthology goals that he scored against Stella Club, a shooting powerful and tense since the central roundabout and in extra time, in 1967, in the final of the National Cup. “But the most beautiful memory of my football rest career victory of the Elephants during the final phases of the CAN of 1965, in Tunisia, in the face of the Congo Leopoldville (now DRC). That day, I scored the three goals ofthe Ivory Coast,”explains Eustache MANGLE.
After hanging up the cleats, Eustache MANGLE became football coach. It deals firstand repeatedly of the training center of ASEC Mimosas. Then, from 1990 to 1992, he became the Assistant Coach of the club, then the head coach, in 1993. That year,would have been the plot of Kumasi, in Ghana, where it flew the qualification to ASEC Mimosas, Mimosas, under the leadership of Eustache MANGLE, would have played their first final of an African Cup of champions clubs. After this elimination, Eustache MANGLE withdraws from the world of football and is dedicated to his family before being hit hard by osteoarthritis of the spine, which he still drags the after-effects.

Born August 10, 1947, in Abidjan, Laurent POKOU is a former Ivorian international footballer. He was one of the great strikers of ASEC Mimosas, Stade rennais, of lASNancy Lorraine and the Elephants of Ivory Coast.
