LIGUE CUP 18th final: ES Bingerville 0 - 0 ASEC Mimosas (3 tab to 5) :

Welcome back to competition

ASEC Mimosas made it into the League Cup by eliminating the Bingerville Sports Agreement (BSE) in the 16th round of the league on Saturday night in penalties (3 tab to 5).

The return to competition after the long truce imposed on the Ivorian Ligue 1 teams was a bit difficult for ASEC Mimosas. But coach Julien CHEVALIER’s players finally had the resources and strong nerves to be very realistic in the penalty shootout and eliminate ES Bingerville by 5 achievements to 3.

The 5 mimosa shooters, N’GUESSAN Yessoh, SAMAKÉ Gaoussou, ABLAKOR Yao Yves, DION Sédé Junior and SAKO Oumar did not tremble and each transformed their test with an Olympian composure. On the Side of the Bingervillois only three players (captain VOLI BI Tra Landry, Salif SANGARÉ and KOAMA Élysée) succeeded in their attempt. The missed one of the 4th shooter of ES Bingerville, DIALLO Abdoul Yvann, repelled by the young and excellent goalkeeper mimosas, BAMBA Aboubakar, ruined the hopes of this courageous and eye-catching Formation of Ligue 2 who dreamed of repeating his feat of the season last when she eliminated ASEC Mimosas (2-1) in the 8th final of the same competition.

Beautiful leg for the Mimosas

The lack of competition was felt on the side of Julien CHEVALIER’s players. But they made a good impression by demonstrating a good individual and collective technical mastery. “Unfortunately, we lacked efficiency in attack to win during regulation time and the opponent could even have scored a goal in the final moments of the game,” lamented the Yellow and Black Coach.

In the end, all is well that ends well. After the 90-minute draw, the ASEC Mimosas team won on penalties and qualified for the 8th finalwhere they will meet JCAT, another Ligue 2 team, on Thursday 24 October 2019, starting at 18:00 at Treichville Sports Park. In addition to the qualification, this match was also a nice set-up for the Mimosas.
