The ASEC is reviving in the race for qualification

Combative, disciplined and playful, the ASEC Mimosas took a nice revenge on the Wydad athletic Club of Casablanca, taking it (2 – 0), this afternoon, at the Felicia, on the 5th day of the group stage of the Champions League. A nice operation that puts the ASEC Mimosas in the suspense of the qualification for the quarterfinals.

The match starts at a hundred an hour with a very nice opportunity Mimosas from the 2nd mn, in the feet of BAGATÉ Sadi which unfortunately does not fit his striking. The game is already taking a hell of a beat. At the 12th minute, the ASEC Mimosas is close to opening the score on a corner played by OUATTARA Kalpi and taken over by COULIBALY Wonlo who does not frame his head in front of the quasi-empty post. The Mimos set themselves up to the attack by splitting games. At the 35th MN on a new attack placed, Bance Ibrahim is at the fall of a beautiful center of Ahmadi Alex. But again, the head of the young midfielder is not framed. The Mimos do the main thing in the game but still lack effective and go to the break with the parity score (0 – 0).

The Mimos begin the second period by distant attempts. TOURÉ Amed then OUATTARA Kalpi see their party strikes in the air. Engulfed by the domination of Mimosas, Moroccans proceed by counter-attacks. At 56th MN, coach AMANI Yao made two tactical changes with the entries of Devine Daouda (56 ‘) and Tam Abdoul (66 ‘) instead of Karyani Souleymane and DAO Mohamed. The coaching proves to be a winner since at the 67th MN, the ASEC Mimosas finally manages to open the score by its Goaleador TOURÉ Amed on a pass of Badie Gbagnon (1 – 0).  The Mimos take the advantage but continue to attack and obtain opportunities like that of the 80th MN with the powerful hit of Bance Ibrahim who puts in great difficulty the goalkeeper of the WAC. The last few minutes are crazy. The ASEC Mimosas puts the turbo. The Moroccans are cornered. At the 88th Mn, on a work of undermining of Tam Abdoul fessal, the ball reaches the helm Sadi eliminates its vis-a-vis and puts a powerful center, to the ground, taken over by TOURÉ Amed, the “Simba” who with the help of the crossbar signs its doubled to give Définitivem The “Yellow and black” victory.

An important victory that totally raises AMANI Yao and his players in the race for qualifying in the quarterfinals that will have to be picked up in Nigeria on Saturday, March 16, at Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium in Enugu.
