It will be hard, but everything is still possible

We titrions to the one of our magazine last week: “Last Corner”. This title borrowed from the vocabulary of cycling, horse racing or athletics indicated that the final packaging is close and that the main thing is to get out in a good position to be able to compete in the sprint in good conditions. This last turn is often the place of collective or individual falls that deprive any chance for the unfortunates to participate.

The draw against a direct opponent is not a good result on the chart, even if it allows us to scrounge one more place in the overall ranking by anticipating the difference of goals Bouake FC. 5 points now separate us from the 3rd (Racing Club of Abidjan), 8 from the 2nd (FC San Pedro) and 14 from the leader (SOA) while 7 games remain to play and 21 points to score. The sprint is well launched, but we start it with a handicap of points on these 3 teams. These 7 games will represent 7 finals to win and the match against can was rather promising in terms of the game even if it did not finish by taking the 3 points. In boxing, it was said that the ASEC Mimosas won this match at points facing a tough and worthy opponent. This does not exist in football.

On the international stage, the final sprint is already well launched and we are a few minutes late as the finish line is approaching. The qualification is still possible and could be played in the “Photo-Finish”. To do this, our team will have to go to the big bank to get ahead on the line its direct competitors are the WAC (Morocco) and Mamelodi Sundowns (South Africa).

Indeed, the qualification should be played around the 10 points in group A. Having 4 points with 2 games yet to play, 2 wins in the last 2 are imperative. The challenge is up, but a victory against the WAC on Saturday at the Félix Houphouët Boigny Stadium, will open the door to all possible in the last game against Lobi Stars in Enugu (Nigeria) on Saturday 16 March 2019.

La season arrives at its culmination with Deadlines all as important on all the tables during this decisive march. Everything can still change in one direction as in the other, while the National Cup is added to these competitions which we will play the 16th of the finals during this month. The availability of an almost full complement will be an added bonus for our coach in order to play on these 3 tables with the hope of achieving the goals set at the beginning of the season. Everything is still possible. We all have to believe and our players will need all our support at a time when each game is weighing heavier.
